Similar to how Estevez was referred to in the New York magazine story as the unofficial leader of the Brat on Flixtor Movies Pack, Kirby Keager, a St. Elmo's waiter and law student, is the sincere overachiever and unofficial leader of the gang. Julianna "Jules" Van Patten, the banker played by Moore, is a "wild child" with a drug addiction. In real life, Moore claims that because of the widespread awareness of her cocaine addiction during the filming of "St. Elmo's Fire," she was required to have a "sober companion" with her at all times in order to keep Moore from becoming uncontrollably addicted to drugs. Even though Billy Hicks is married, he is a hottie who has multiple women on the hook. Lowe was known for being a playboy too.
